Today’s Google Doodle: Summer Solstice by Takashi Murakami

Today’s Google Doodle is created by Takashi Murakami a Japanese artist and entitled it as “The First Day of Summer – Summer Solstice.” Murakami is known for his sculptures and paintings which are influenced by Japanese Anime culture.

Summer Solstice is the longest day in summer and it falls on the 21st of June each year. This occurs when the Earth’s axial tilt is most inclined towards the sun which creates the longest day in the northern hemisphere.

Today’s Google Doodle: Lunar Eclipse

It was just a week ago when Google make a special doodle for Les Paul and now they made one of the most extra-ordinary events a special doodle, the 2011 Lunar Eclipse.

Google has even streamed a live footage of the Lunar Eclipse on their YouTube channel. The Lunar Eclipse last for 100 minutes.

Today’s Google Doodle: 50th Anniversary of the First Human Spaceflight

The first man to go to space is Yuri Gagarin, he is a Russian cosmonaut.

April 12, 1961 is the date of the first human spaceflight and today as honor to the historic event Google Doodle features Yuri Gagarin first human spaceflight 50th anniversary.

Today’s Google Doodle: Robert Bunsen’s 200th Birthday

Remember those laboratory gas burner that was used with our Science Laboratory Lessons? I’m sure all of us got fun with it but did you know that today marks the 200th birthday of that Bunsen Burner inventory that we use to see in our Science Labs.

Robert Bunsen, the German scientist who developed the Bunsen burner is featured by Google with its Today’s Google Doodle as honour for him.
