Today’s Google Doodle: 112th Birthday of Jorge Luis Borges

Today’s Google Doodle commemorates Jorge Luis Borges 112th birthday an Argentine poet, essayist, and short story writer.

One of the famous works of Jorge Luis Borges is “The Garden of Forking Paths” that was published in 1941. He was born in Buenos Aires but spent most of his life in Switzerland and Spain. Before he got famous he worked as a librarian and a public lecturer he even have this well-known quote “I have always imagined that paradise will be a kind of library.”

Today’s Google Doodle: Pierre de Fermat 410th Birthday

Today is the French Mathematician’s Pierre de Fermat 410th Birthday and in commemoration of his birthday Google made a special Doodle for him.

Today’s Google Doodle is a school blackboard with codes written and if you will hover above the doodle you will see this: “I have discovered a truly marvelous proof of this theorem, which this doodle is too small to contain.”

Today’s Google Doodle: Summer Solstice by Takashi Murakami

Today’s Google Doodle is created by Takashi Murakami a Japanese artist and entitled it as “The First Day of Summer – Summer Solstice.” Murakami is known for his sculptures and paintings which are influenced by Japanese Anime culture.

Summer Solstice is the longest day in summer and it falls on the 21st of June each year. This occurs when the Earth’s axial tilt is most inclined towards the sun which creates the longest day in the northern hemisphere.

Today’s Google Doodle: Lunar Eclipse

It was just a week ago when Google make a special doodle for Les Paul and now they made one of the most extra-ordinary events a special doodle, the 2011 Lunar Eclipse.

Google has even streamed a live footage of the Lunar Eclipse on their YouTube channel. The Lunar Eclipse last for 100 minutes.
