It was all because of Vander Decken IX why the Mermaid Princess is kept hidden inside the Koukaku Tower. This is because Vander Decken IX wanted to marry Princess Shirahoshi, unfortunately she refused Vanders offer and that makes the evil pirate decided to kill the Mermaid Princess.

Vander possess the power called ‘Mato-Mato’ making him capable of hitting anything he wanted to target, and that was the reason behind the axe and the scratches within Mermaid Princess Koukaku Tower doors.

On the other part of the story, Fishman Island guards are now in search of arresting the rest of Straw Hat Pirates because of Madam Shirley prediction of destruction from a man wearing a Straw Hat.

Nami, Ussop, Brook and Zoro are currently fighting against Fishman Island soldiers and Neptune. While Luffy is a bit away from trouble he invited Neptune’s Mermaid Princess to go out the tower and promised to protect her at all cost.

Meanwhile, the two villain of the story Hodi Jones and Vander Decken IX meet up and agreed to have an alliance for the main purpose of destroying the Ryuuguu Kingdom.
